What the law requires of you?

Within the first 12 weeks of employing a new care worker, they must complete an induction training programme covering the six common induction standards as set by Skills for Care.

The new standards are designed for people entering social care, and those changing roles or employers within adult social care.

The 12-week CIS induction period should enable care workers to give high quality care and support it also acts as recognition for their work, and prepares them for entry onto NVQ health and social care programs.

Inspectors will be looking for evidence that new staff have passed through an appropriate induction training programme.
